A Backer is a player who has unlocked the other side of the platform. After hitting a minimum play threshold, any user can activate Backer mode — depositing funds that cover other players' predictions. Backers earn when predictions miss, just like the house.
Yes, anybody can be a Backer, as long as they have met the minimum play threshold.
Empire manages the allocation of predictions to Backers and ensures all Players are fully paid out on winning predictions. Empire does not select which predictions are allocated to which Backers.
Empire charges a fee on Backer profits only. We earn nothing when Backers lose — our incentives are aligned with yours.
Predictions are allocated in the order they are received, distributed across all active Backers within their chosen sports based on deposit order. No Backer is ever skipped, and neither Empire nor the Backer has any say in which specific predictions are allocated.
